  • (another) Glass problem

    Hi, Im having trouble rendering this glass bulb. No matter what I do, uvw map, reset xform, smoothing, adjusting the volume absorption etc, I can't seem to get rid of the black artifacts appearing in the center of the bulb.

    One thing that is for sure is that removing the volume absorption gets rid of the issue but then seems to look unrealistic..

    Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    What are your Max Depth settings at? Have you tried to increase it?

      I believe its set to 16, is that too low?

        Seems to be the Ray threshold. I had my units set as US inches and the threshold read 0. Decided to switch to metric and then the threshold said 0.01cm. So I tried 0.009cm and it solved the artifacts.
