Hi,
I have the oportunity to buy a really cheap mining rig with 6x1080ti but I'm not sure if the rig itself (motherboard-CPU) will handle 3DS Max and Fstorm, or if it would be possible to use it for the new network rendering option. I already have a good PC to handle the modelling so this second one would be just to render.
- Motherboard: Biostar tb250-btc+
- CPU: Intel Core i3-7100 3.9 GHz
- RAM: 8Gb
- SSD (no idea about size)
- PCIE Riser 16x plus 6xAsus Turbo GTX 1080 Ti
I could replace the CPU and RAM if needed but the rig looks pretty compact and would like to spend much more on it so:
- Would this work as standalone rendering platform?
- Would it work better as network rendering option?
- Has anyone tried something similar?
